The Harper on Sunset is a distinctive new architectural landmark for the eastern gateway of the Sunset Strip.

The Harper on Sunset incorporates exceptional design that complements the curvilinear form of Sunset Boulevard at Harper Avenue. It houses a nine story, 172 unit, hotel facing Sunset and an adjoining seven story residential structure to the South with 46 studio, one- and two-bedroom market rate and affordable housing units, plus commercial, retail, and other ancillary hotel and residential amenities. The project also includes three levels of subterranean parking offering 174 parking spaces. The proposed new sustainable, design-focused mixed-use project will integrate a remarkable digital billboard display wrapping around the highly visible Southeast corner of Harper Avenue and Sunset Blvd.

The Harper on Sunset is testimony to the strength and vitality of West Hollywood. A pedestrian oriented project, it will provide the community with a place to walk, eat, and relax on the world famous Sunset Strip.


The Harper on Sunset will be located on the 38,215 sq.ft. site and will replace a 3-story office building at 8228 Sunset Boulevard, a 2-story office structure at 8240 Sunset Boulevard, and a surface parking lot in the rear of the property.


The economic impact will be positive, creating jobs and bringing guests to West Hollywood who will support the many diverse local businesses throughout the neighborhood. This is more important than ever in light of the economic impacts of COVID 19.

The site will be punctuated by a floating open-air courtyard with lush landscaping and outdoor dining and public space accessible to the community. This will bring a new element of style, sophistication and a significant point of reference to the eastern entry to the Sunset Strip.
